Catalogues & Specifications (Piping) |
|
What it's about |
Using PDMS to produce catalogue components and piping specifications. This
is considered to be the most important aspect of PDMS, because the use of them
controls piping design and the selection of components. |
Who it's for |
Engineers whose responsibility will be to define the standards used within PDMS. |
Duration |
5 Days |
Topics covered |
Overview of the catalogue database The principles of the catalogue database. The database hierarchy and the interaction between catalogue components and the piping specification. The relationship between the design and catalogue databases and the effects of breaking the chain of reference. Using the graphical user interface to select required options from the on-screen and pull down menus. Producing catalogues and specifications A series of theoretical and practical sessions covering the following subjects: Creating components, geometry sets and point sets to represent a specific piping component. Producing different pictorial representations to suit client requirements. Constructing a connection compatibility table and understanding how to use it Writing a piping specification using the default facility and understanding the procedure required to modify it. Producing an insulation specification and seeing what modifications are required to the geometry set. Understanding how to use detail text elements in the catalogue. Seeing how a systematic approach can be used to problem solving within the catalogue database. Discussing the need for application of coding systems within PDMS. |
